It's official now that Mahesh Bhupathi and Lara Dutta have got engaged. The ace tennis star has tweeted, "So Lara and me got engaged in NY last week".
There were rumours that Lara was going around with Mahesh Bhupathi, ever since the actress broke up with Dino Morea. The two were spotted together many times at events and parties.
Confirming her engagement, Lara Dutta first spoke to a publication and came clean on her relationship with Mahesh Bhupathi. The actress says Mahesh proposed to her during the recent US open and it took her completely by surprise.

The relationship has witnessed many ups and downs. Mahesh Bhupathi's ex-wife Shwetha Jaishankar had blamed Lara for the divorce between her and Mahesh, but Lara Dutta had strongly denied such allegations.
