Malayalam actor Jagathy's condition better
Kozhikode: The condition of veteran Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar, undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the serious injuries sustained in an accident, was better.

The ventilator support given to the actor was being removed slowly, said Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) hospital.

Sreekumar (61) was showing signs of improvement and was supposed to have been shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC) hospital at Vellore, but the shifting was postponed, as the veteran actor developed fever.

He was also put on vetilator support, sources said.

The decision to shift the actor to CMC Vellore was taken following the visit of a three-member team of doctors from Vellore, who had assessed Sreekumar's health condition on March 29.

A decision on shifting the actor to Vellore will be taken only after the actor's condition becomes stable, sources said.

Sreekumar was seriously injured, when the car in which he was travelling to Kodagu in Karnataka for the shooting of a Malayalam film 'Idavapathy' directed by Lenin Rajendran, met with an accident after the vehicle hit the road divider, at nearby Tenhippalam in Malappuram district, on March 10.

Sreekumar, was operated upon for his abdomen injuries and three surgeries on his right hand forearm, right thigh and hip, subsequently.
