Veteran Malayalam actor and director Sreenivasan, who was on a ventilator after undergoing emergency cardiac surgery, is stable and responding well to the treatment, as per ANI. On March 30, the 66-year-old actor suffered a cardiac arrest and was immediately admitted to Apollo Adlux Hospital in Kerala. However, after undergoing bypass surgery, he was shifted to the ventilator for three days, as his saturation levels dropped. In a statement to ANI, the authorities said, "Mn Sreenivasan, film actor, was admitted to Apollo Adlux Hospital on 30th March due to Cardiac Ailment for which he underwent BY-PASS surgery and he is recovering in the Coronary Care Unit. His progress to illness is satisfactory and he is responding well to Treatments and Medications."
Apart from being an actor, Sreenivasan is also a screenwriter, dubbing artist and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. So far, he has starred in more than 225 films. Recently, on April 6, he turned a year older; however, he couldn't celebrate his birthday as he was confined to the hospital bed due to his surgery.
Sreenivasan is also known for his screenplays based on Kerala's political and social scenarios. He has written screenplays for films such as Varavelpu, Sandesam, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Odaruthammava Aalariyam, Oru Maravathoor and others. Not just this, he has also won several prestigious awards for social issues-two Kerala State Film Awards for Best Screenplay for Sandesam and Mazhayethum Munpe.
Sreenivasan was last seen in Pyali. Next, he will be seen in Makal, starring Jayaram, Meera Jasmine and Devika Sanjay, among others, and Keedam.
