"I still get excited by working with big names. You have that initial moment of, 'Oh my goodness, I'm going to work with Tom Cruise,'" Malin said.
New Delhi:
The 34-year-old actress couldn't believe it when she was cast alongside the Hollywood legend for Rock of Ages and was nervous about meeting him for the first time but she quickly struck up a bond with Tom.
Malin Akerman - who had to stick her tongue in the actor's ear during one memorable scene - said: "I still get excited by working with big names. You have that initial moment of, 'Oh my goodness, I'm going to work with Tom Cruise!' And then you meet him and in 10 minutes you realise you're both just in this together, two actors who are equally as nervous and excited to be on a new journey. And star-struck feelings go away and you become partners in crime. My dream now is to work on a big film with Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett."
The Swedish-born beauty has six films out this year and several other movies hitting screens in 2013, but although her career is going great, she claims her biggest achievement to date is marrying her husband, drummer Roberto Zincone.
Malin Akerman - who is expecting her first child with the musician - told Stylist magazine: "My husband is my rock. He's kept me sane throughout this whole process. When we met, I couldn't believe I'd found my soul mate - and this coming from a girl who didn't believe that marriage was possible. I had come from a broken family and didn't believe two people could be together forever, and then I met Roberto and was like, 'I want to marry this man.' And we've been together for nine years now. Marrying him is the thing I'm most proud of in my life."
