Taking after his superstarfatherMammootty, Dhulquar Salman will be making his debut in theMalayalam film industry with Second Show (life has a secondchance), to release in January.
"Salman was best suited for the role and that is whywechose him (as hero). Being Mammootty's son is an addedadvantage," the film's director Sreenath Rajendran toldreporters today.
Besides Salman, the film's cast includes newcomerGauthamy Nair, who is the heroine, Bollywood actor SudeshBerry, who is making his debut in a regional film, andBaburaj, who has enacted the villain's role in several films.Berry, who had acted in films like Border andVansh, aremake of renowned Director Mani Ratnam's Tamil move AgniNakshthram, said he did not know the language.
"But I know the language of expression, love and thelanguage of humanity," he said.
Rajendran said Salman is donning the role of a villageyouth, who is prepared to do any kind of job.The shooting of the film, estimated to cost about Rs3.5crore, had started a month ago, locations mainly beingKozhikode and Puducherry. "It will take another 20 days moreto complete the film."
Rajendran, who had worked as an assistant underpopularDirector Jayaraj, said they had approached Mammootty for hispermission to cast Salman in the film.
Mammootty had asked for the script and had left thedecision to Salman, he said.
