Manna Dey is undergoing treatment for age related complications

Playback legend Manna Dey, undergoing treatment in a Bangalore cardiac specialty hospital, is on the way to recovery now, doctors attending on him said today.
"Mr Manna Dey is off the ventilator, taking (intake) orally, sitting and talking. He is on the way to recovery," said a spokesperson for Narayana Hrudayalaya.
The 94-year-old is undergoing treatment at the facility for age-related complications, especially related to neuro-respiratory, and his health has shown improvement.
Mr Dey has sung more than 3,500 songs in different languages. He made Bangalore his home after living in Mumbai for 50 years.
Manna Dey, a Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, was hospitalised for chest infection on June 8, 2013 after his health deteriorated before which he was being treated at his home for the past couple of weeks.
Some of his popular tracks include Poocho Na Kaise Maine (Meri Surat Teri Aankhen), Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen (Waqt), Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli (Anand), Yeh Dosti (Sholay) and Ek Chatur Naar (Padosan).
