London: Marvin Humes was 'stuttering and stumbling' when he proposed to Rochelle Wiseman.

The JLS singer had carefully planned out exactly how he wanted to ask The Saturdays beauty to be his wife during their festive holiday in the Maldives, but when the time came he couldn't quite get the words right. He said: "I can't tell you how many times I'd rehearsed what to say but when the moment came to speak, it all went to pieces - the only time I've ever messed my words up.

"I was stuttering and stumbling. I said to Rochelle, 'I want to make you the happiest man ... No, I mean I want you to make me the happiest man.' It was getting all confused."

Rochelle and Marvin - who plan to marry this summer - split briefly in 2010 and the couple say the break made them realise that they can't live without one another.

In a joint interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine, Rochelle said: "Those six weeks felt like forever and it didn't help that we kept bumping into each other on the circuit. It was a painful time."One one show JLS and The Saturdays did, they put our dressing rooms next to each other and that was so hard."

Marvin added: "It was moments like that which made me sit up and think, 'What on earth are you doing?'"I kept getting this feeling of, 'Why are we not together when I feel like that's my wife next door?' "That time showed me without a shadow of a doubt that Rochelle was the woman I wanted to be with for the rest of my life because I was so miserable without her."
