Mumbai: Prashant Batar of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut city became the first contestant in the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati to reach the Rs.1 crore level but lost out while trying for Rs.5 crore. He will now take away only Rs.320,000.
Excitement rose as Batar went on to win Rs.50 lakh without using a single lifeline and then won Rs.1 crore in the fourth season of the show, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Sony channel.
He was left with only one lifeline at the jackpot question of Rs.5 crore, but lost out.
Batar had dreamt of going on a romantic holiday with actress Deepika Padukone to Antarctica after winning Rs. 5 crore and hoped to buy a BMW for his parents.
