The Spice Girls - Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham
New Delhi:
Mel B used to have "punch ups" with her Spice Girls bandmates.
The 37-year-old singer had a tempestuous relationship with Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel C, and Emma Bunton and even though their rows sometimes got physical, she insists there was always "love" between them.
Mel B - who is based in Australia with her husband Stephen Belafonte and three daughters Phoenix Chi, 13, Angel, five, and 15-month-old Madison - said in an interview with the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "You know what? Me and Victoria are fine now. It's like any relationship with her and me. We fight, we argue, we make up... it's always been like that. It's been like that with all five of us over the years. I've had punch-ups with Mel C in the past. But we have unconditional love for each other underneath it all. Obviously there's been stories saying some of us hate each other and there are fall-outs. But we're like sisters. You know, we go through ups and downs and sometimes we might be p****d off but at the end of the day we're there for each other. We might not speak for a week or so but then we get back on Skype and sort our s**t out. It's all nice right now. But the five of us definitely have been through it over the years."
Earlier this year, the quintet reunited to perform at the London Olympics closing Ceremony and Mel had the "best time" hanging out with the Spice Girls again.
She added: "What we did at the Olympics shows that we're happiest all together. We took a week out for rehearsals, nobody got paid and we rocked it. We wanted to be together. We didn't have to. It was the best week. Every time I'm with them I love that time and I always want more. I think we've always had an energy when we're together and that's never gone."
