He has been in news for all thewrong reasons recently and Hollywood superstar Mel Gibson ismaking a last ditch attempt to save his movie career with acomedy role as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2.
The troubled star, who was dropped by his agency in Julyafter facing allegations that he assaulted and made threatsagainst his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, has signed toplay a Bangkok tattooist in the highly anticipated comedy,reported New York Post online.
"It's a done deal. Mel will make a cameo as a tattooartist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, wherea Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film hisrole in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand atthe end of October," said a source.
The sequel to the wildly successful 2009 hit will followthe gang, played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, ZackGalifianakis and Justin Bartha, as they take a boys' trip toThailand with a dangerous stop in Bangkok.
It is not known if Gibson's Hangover 2 character willreference his current real-life problems. But the originalmovie did much to reinvent Mike Tyson's image from a troubleddrug user into a comedic actor.
The Los Angeles district attorney reportedly is stilldeciding whether to charge the 54-year-old actor, whoallegedly attacked Grigorieva while she had their daughter inher arms, with domestic violence.
