London: Hollywood actor-director Mel Gibson's sordid saga with estranged lover Oksana Grigorieva continues with the latest episode in the custody battle over their daughter, Lucia. The beleaguered star is seeking emergency transferal of custody of 14 month old Lucia after claiming that Grigorieva made false accusations against him to the press last week, Contactmusic reports.

55 year old Gibson accused his 40 year old ex-girlfriend of dishing on intimate details of their sexual life and feels that the revelations could be damaging to their daughter's interests. The Braveheart star, under fire for alleged physical and verbal abuse to Grigorieva, received support from an unexpected quarter when ex-wife Robyn spoke up in his defence.

"Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage. Mel was a wonderful and loving father," she told the court last July. Gibson has seven children from his marriage with Robyn. Gibson and Robyn's marriage of nearly 30 years ended in Hollywood's costliest divorce when his dalliance with Russian musician Grigorieva was made public.

Gibson, who has a long record of racist rants and generally unsavoury behaviour, has been locked in a bitter custody battle over Lucia since April 2010 and there is to be a hearing in February this year.
