London:
Actress Meryl Streep, who has been nominated in the best actress category for the Oscars, says she want her friend Viola Davis to win the prestigious trophy.
"Yes, oh yes. I love her and think she's amazing. She deserves and should be at the forefront of our business. She's a friend and we've worked together and I'm really fond of her. So we want the best for our friends. Honestly," thesun.co.uk quoted her as saying.
While Streep is nominated for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, Davis has been nominated for role in The Help.
Streep and Davis have previously appeared together in 2008 film Doubt.
