Hollywood legend MichaelDouglas is nearing the end of his throat cancer treatmentafter a grueling eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiation.
The 66-year-old actor has one more treatment left andafter this week "no further treatments are scheduled," saidhis longtime friend and publicist Allen Burry.
The Oscar-winning actor's recovery is expected to takeabout another six weeks. Then he'll have periodic check-ups,reported People magazine.
"He's really happy about it ending," Burry added.Although the treatment can make it painful to swallowand as a result difficult to eat, Douglas "was determined notto have a feeding tube, and he didn't have to have one," saidBurry.
Douglas also had enough energy to walk his 7-year-olddaughter Carys to school and came out to promote Wall Street:Money Never Sleeps, appearing at the New York premiere withhis wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones.
