Hollywood actor MichaelDouglas has launched a campaign for children to expressthemselves in favour of the idea of an Earth without nuclearweapons.
The 67-year-old has urged children between five and 17years of age to use their creative talents in drawing andpainting to express their vision of a world without nuclearweapons, bombs or wars in an international art competition,Prensa Latina reported.
Douglas has served as a United Nations Messenger of Peacesince 1998. The initiative was announced by the UN televisionsystem via a film message.
"Art is a universal language, which speaks to our heartsand minds and can make a difference," Douglas said.
