Michael Jackson's new song not fake: Sony
London: Late pop legend Michael Jackson's record label Sony Music has denied claims that the vocals on a previously unheard track by the singer are fake.

The song in question, entitled Breaking News, was recorded in New Jersey in 2007 according to the label, and will be included on Jackson's forthcoming posthumous album, reports contactmusic.com.

Shortly after Sony released the new song on their website, the singer's nephews TJ Jackson and Taryll Jackson became suspicious. TJ posted a message on his Twitter page saying he was convinced the vocals were provided by a Jackson imitator named Jason Malachi, adding that he thought the recording was "deceptively merging shady vocals with MJ samples".

Taryll claimed that Sony have yet to deliver any hard evidence that the song is genuine, writing on his Twitter page: "I questioned the validity of the vocals on 'Breaking News' and several other songs and they told me no other takes or tracks exist".

Despite the allegations, Sony Music came out with a counter statement that it has "complete confidence" in the results of their extensive research, and had "accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael" when he recorded the track. The new album titled Michael, will be released on Dec 14.
