New Delhi: Kill Bill actor Michael Madsen has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).

He was spotted driving erratically on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California on September 12, 2012 and was reportedly found to have a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when apprehended by police, according to gossip website TMZ.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore revealed the star took a breathalyser test which showed a level of .20, with the legal limit set at .08.

He has been charged with a misdemeanour DUI, and bail set at $15,000.

His car -a Pontiac GTO with red flames - was towed away from the scene. This follows Michael's arrest in March at his Malibu home on felony charges of child endangerment with cruelty to a child, where he posted $100,000 bail before he was released.

Michael's lawyer Perry Wander said: "He found his son smoking pot and they got into an argument when he tried to take it away. It's a family matter and Michael asks that his family's privacy be respected."

However, the case was not taken any further due to insufficient evidence.
