Los Angeles: Teen pop star Miley Cyruswho was caught on camera smoking the hallucinogenic herbsalvia, has become the unintentional face of a campaign to banthe drug.

The video of the Hannah Montana star gigglinguncontrollably after smoking a bong containing salvia wasallegedly made at her home near Los Angeles, California, fivedays after she turned 18 on November 23.

Anthony Adams, an anti-drug campaigner plans to usethe example of Cyrus to ask for a ban on the herb, reportedTMZ.

"It can make you do incredibly crazy things. Miley isa star and young kids are going to emulate her behavior," saidAdams.

Back in 2007, Adams tried to get salvia outlawed andclassified as a Schedule I controlled substance, the same asLSD and marijuana.

When the bill was voted down Adams settled forrestrictions on selling salvia to minors. It is still legal inCalifornia for adults.

After seeing the video of Cyrus smoking the drug,Adams thinks this is the perfect time to bring back his failedbill.

"It's time for state and federal governments to renewtheir push toward an outright ban," said Adams.
