New Delhi:
Your Take:Is this a wrong choice of national costume by Miss India?
Miss India Ushoshi Sengupta's gown for the National Costume round of the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas has received a lot of criticism from the fashion fraternity.
Kolkata based designer duo Dev R Nil decided to deviate from the traditional lehenga choli and created a deep blue coloured dress with peacock wings. But the change hasn't gone down well with the other Indian designers.
Designers feel that Dev R Nil should have opted for a saree instead. Many also said that the colours in the gown were a bit too strong.
According to reports, Dev R Nil have defended their design by saying that it was inspired by India's national bird peacock and they wanted to give a contemporary look to the outfit this time.
