Deepika Padukone and Ruby Rose in a still from xXx: The Return of Xander Cage
New Delhi:
Resplendent in red, Deepika Padukone made a stunning picture in an embellished lehenga by Manish Malhotra at India Couture Week, which started on July 20 in New Delhi.
The actress, who was the showstopper for the designer, said that it was the "heaviest lehenga" she had ever worn. She admitted that this particular creation would make every bride feel special and on her own special day, she would like to dress in something like this. But that's not happening any time soon. "No, I am not engaged, I am not getting married. And no, I'm not pregnant," said Deepika, putting to rest all the rumors of an engagement with reported beau Ranveer Singh.
"I am not getting married any time soon," Deepika insisted. Both Manish Malhotra and actor Fawad Khan, who walked the ramp with her, said she would make for a radiant bride.
Fawad also recently said that he would love to do a film with Deepika, with whom he struck up quite a rapport at the IIFA Awards held in Madrid last month. Meanwhile, Fawad has been confirmed for Karan Johar's next film with Katrina Kaif.
To all those who were disappointed by her blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer of Hollywood film with Vin Diesel, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Deepika said: "I am excited and there is a lot more coming in the next few months."
Deepika will soon start working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati and sources suggest Shahid Kapoor will play her onscreen husband. When asked, Deepika was characteristically diplomatic: "I don't handle casting. The director does."
Well, all we can say is - it's good to have you back on home turf, Deepika Padukone.
