Taking note of reports that Malayalam actor Mohan Lal, an honorary Lieutenant Colonel of Territorial Army, has violated norms by donning his military uniform in an advertisement, the Indian Army may issue an advisory asking him to adhere to protocol.
"Such a report has come to our notice but that needs to be confirmed. We may issue an advisory if it is found correct," Army officials said..
Meanwhile, Territorial Army denied any such report. "We do not have come across any such development. Lt Col Mohan Lal is abroad and we have not contacted him," said a TA officer.
Mohan Lal was given honorary commission into 122 Territorial Army unit of Madras Regiment two years ago. As per the protocol, he can wear the uniform only during ceremonial functions or while training with the TA.
Mohan Lal allegedly appeared in a TV commercial to promote Kerala tourism sometime back where he reportedly was shown in his military uniform.
