Malayalam superstar Mohanlal turns 52 today. The actor, who started his career with Thironattam in 1978, has acted in over 300 Malayalam films, 4 Tamil films and 5 Bollywood films. He has also sung around 25 songs in various movies.
Mohanlal, who is riding high on the success of his latest film Grandmaster, will be conferred the title of Kalakovida by the Kerala chapter of Samskrita Bharati for his contribution to the field of arts, especially related to Sanskrit language.
Mohanlal played a police officer in Priyadarshan's recent Bollywood action thriller Tezz and has a long list of movies scheduled for this year. The Padma Shri award winning actor will team up with Ranjith in the upcoming film, Spirit which deals with alcoholism. Also, he will be seen donning the role of a cameraman in the new-gen flick, Run Baby Run scheduled to be the actor's Onam release. His other projects include P Balachandrakumar's thriller titled Specialist and two films with Mammootty's son Dulquer Salmaan.
Mohanlal is married to Suchitra, daughter of Tamil film producer K Balaji and has two children - Pranav and Vismaya.
