Precious star Mo'Nique willjoin Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President TomSherak to announce the nominations this year on January 25.
Mo'Nique, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscarfor her role of an abusive welfare mother last year, hadraised some eyebrows with her politically charged acceptancespeech.
"I would like to thank the Academy for showing that itcan be about the performance and not the politics," Mo'Niquehad said.
The actress will unveil the nominations in 10 of the24 categories at a 5:30 a.m. (local news)at the Academy'sSamuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, a release from theAcademy said.
Mo'Nique currently hosts her own late-night talk show,The Mo'Nique Show on BET.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, February27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre.
