Will Smith slapping Chris Rock dominated the Oscars on Sunday evening.

The controversy around Will Smith's Oscars slap to Chris Rock is now going to die down easily. Even after his apology, Smith is facing a barrage of criticism for walking up to Rock during the Oscars ceremony and delivering a blow to his face.

Now, internet has found an old video, which shows Smith demonstrating his slapping technique on a little boy last year. The boy too was named Chris - an unfortunate coincidence.

The demonstration took place during a Q&A at a 'King Richard' screening in Los Angeles on November 11. Smith won the Best Actor award for the film this year.

Smith did not actually slap this Chris, but answered his query about how the actor “fakes being hit and beat up” in the movies.

"Alright, come here. C'mon. Come on up," Smith told the boy.

The actor then explained the boy what he is going to do and practiced the scene a couple of times with him. Smith gave the boy a dialogue: "I need you to say 'Hey man, where's my money?'"

The boy repeated the dialogue and Smith pretended to slap the boy. He then gave him a high five and a fist bump and the crowd present there applauded.

The footage started gaining traction on social media a day after Smith walked up to Rock at the Oscars ceremony and slapped him for making a tasteless joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, who is suffering from hair loss disease alopecia.

"Get my wife's name out of your f****** mouth!" Smith shouted - twice - after returning to his seat as a baffled Rock looked on. Minutes later, Smith won the Best Actor award.

He has since apologised for his actions, including to Rock, but people are calling for stripping Smith of his Oscar award. The Academy has also launched a formal review of the incident.

Pinkett-Smith has also responded to the controversy through a post on her Instagram handle about "healing".
