London:
R&B star Beyonce Knowles is all set to be honoured with a monument in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
Developers at Armdeonce Ventures are designing a statue which will highlight the singer's life and showcase memorabilia from her career, reported Contactmusic. "Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honoured when they die, so our goal is to why not honour people while they're still here? We felt as though it's her time to be honoured. We wanted to construct a massive hall so as the doors open," said Marcus Mitchell, CEO of My Fox Houston.
"There will be clips of Beyonce with Destiny's Child and wardrobe like a mini museum. We've gotten support from the city of Houston, from the Mayor," he added.
Proceeds from the site will be donated to a number of charitable organisations, including Music for America and Beyonce's Survivor Foundation, which offers relief to victims of natural disasters.
Bosses are hoping to unveil the project on September 4, the same day as Knowles' birthday.
