Fans of superstar Rajinikanth may have been excited see the Thalaivar's cameo in Ra.One and his few public appearances, but they have to wait longer for his full-fledged return. Doctors have now advised the actor not to resume shooting for Rana for the time being.
A couple of days ago, Rajinikanth had delighted his fans by stating he was completely fit. But doctors don't agree.
As a result, Rana, which was due to resume by the year-end has now been postponed to February 2012. Despite his enthusiasm to return to work, the superstar admits that since the film has grand action and costume drama sequences, it will exert "too much of a physical strain" on him.
Director of Rana, KS Ravikumar is said to be in complete agreement with the superstar.
"I met Rajni sir around 10 days ago. He is feeling good now but doctors have asked him to wait for some time before starting the shoot. He will be required to do some heavy-duty stunts like flying, riding horses and sword fighting, which will put a lot of strain on him. That's why doctors don't want him to start shooting immediately," he said.
While the film certainly hasn't been shelved, the director has not cleared any dates for the shooting to resume even as it is being said that the film may now go on floors only by February 2012.
Rana's female lead Deepika Padukone has also been kept in the loop about the developments.
Here's hoping that the Boss returns to feeling a 100 per cent fit, which is 200 per cent better than mere mortals.
