Is there anything Twinkle Khanna cannot do? We think not. After having proved her mettle as an actress, interior designer and author, the 47-year-old continues to have more aces up her sleeve that she reveals at regular intervals on Instagram. While we are all aware of just how good her gardening skills are, the former actress has now revealed that she is just as good with sewing, stitching and embroidery. Yes, you read that right. The bestselling author shared a video on Friday where she is seen giving her simple green shirt a quirky makeover by designing and sewing a lovely bee onto it.
In the video, Twinkle can be seen painstakingly working on the wings of the bee and she even shows us how the final design looked. And might we add, if we were grading it, Twinkle's design would get an A+ for sure. In the note that accompanied the video, she suggested that embroidering helped to keep her mind calm and the fact that her shirt got a makeover in the process was a welcome bonus. She wrote, "Moving fingers lead to a still mind, or at least that's what a certain busy bee believes and in the bargain if my shirt gets a makeover then all the better." And given the gifted writer that she is, she also decided to add some fun hashtags which read, "calming churning minds", "you do you girlfriend" and "bees in my bonnet".
Several of Twinkle's fans were impressed by her work and flooded the comment section with praises and heart emojis.

Twinkle's new video had us wondering if she dug into her grandmother's treasured sewing kit to create the special design. True fans of the author would know that Twinkle has inherited her nani's sewing kit and she even wrote about it in an Instagram post. Sharing a picture of the lovely pink box that was filled with several skeins of yarns in multiple colours and needles, she wrote, "My nani's sewing kit - An inheritance that goes beyond tiered boxes and yarn. If she could see this I am sure she would wrinkle her nose and say, ‘Tina, give it to me, I have to redo your chain stitch'." In the post, Twinkle shared a glimpse of a shirt she was working on. This time around, she was going for a blue floral design on a classic white shirt.
On another occasion, Twinkle is seen engrossed with her embroidery as she spent time with her mother, actress Dimple Kapadia on Mother's Day, earlier this year. In a photo, where she is seen sitting with her mother on a sofa, Twinkle wrote, “Mother's Day spent in the best way possible in these circumstances. We both can't keep our hands still. She is sketching, I am doing my embroidery and we continue chatting all through.”
In another image, Twinkle was also seen in a shirt that she had embroidered to feature a woman in a bindi and a pair of spectacles. Sharing it she wrote, "The joy of dressing up in something you have embroidered yourself. My white shirt is transformed with our Mumbai ‘Tai'!"
Twinkle Khanna is married to actor Akshay Kumar. The couple has two children. Born to veteran Bollywood actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, she made her debut in the film Barsaat, opposite Bobby Deol in 1995. Following her marriage to Akshay, she switched her career to interior designing before turning bestselling author in 2015 with her book Mrs Funnybones. Pyjamas are Forgiving, and The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad are her other notable works as an author.
