Adnan Sami says his life has taken a remarkable turn after weight loss

Singer-composer Adnan Sami is enjoying all the attention that is being bestowed on him posthis incredible weight loss and says his life has taken aremarkable turn.
"My journey from fat to fit is remarkable. My life haschanged a lot. I have been getting a lot of opportunities whenit comes to my career. And, moreover my standard of living haschanged, my attitude towards life has changed. I am leading avery healthy life and health is indeed wealth," Adnan, who wasin the city to perform at the Kingdom of Dreams for theirsecond anniversary, told PTI.
The 39-year-old British-born Pakistani singer currentlyworks and lives in Mumbai. He said that he decided to shedkilos not for better career opportunities or to impress hislady love but solely for health reasons.
"A lot was said that I had lost weight because there wasa mystery woman in my life or because I wanted to be a heroand so on but I want to clarify that it was health reasonsthat made me lose weight. My doctor had given me an ultimatum,it was a do or die situation for me," he added.
Adnan, who previously weighed 230 kilos, now stands fitat 85 kilos. He was the butt of joke among people for long butthe singer said that it never affected him so much."Even when I was so heavy I was not apologetic about it.I know I was the butt of all jokes. People took jibes at myweight. But if you are in a public profession, you will alwaysbe scrutinised. I realised that people will always find waysto bring me down. You have to be very thick skinned," he said.Post his weight loss, Adnan has been flooded with filmoffers and has also signed two films, which are set to go onfloors next year. He made his acting debut back in 1995 withPakistani film Sargam directed by Syed Noor, which alsostarred his ex-wife Zeba Bakhtiar.
"I have signed two films. Post my weight loss, I wasgetting a lot of film scripts but mostly were roles of amusician, which were very cliched and predictable. I did notwant to play such role because then where would the actingcome in my performance.
"I will play the lead in both the films that I am doing,which are complete family entertainers, out and out commercialfilms," he said.
Asked if he will also compose music for the films, hesaid, "I am not one of those who has to be taken as a package.I made it clear to the director that if he wants me to composeI will and if not then I have no issues either. But as far assinging is concerned, I realsise that people will not acceptsomeone else's voice on me and so singing is fine."
