My love story with Kareena is different in Heroine: Arjun Rampal

My love story with Kareena is different in Heroine: Arjun Rampal
Arjun Rampal promises an all together new love story in Heroine
New Delhi: Arjun Rampal, who is teaming up with Kareena Kapoor for the third time with Heroine, said the romance portrayed between them in the film is not of the conventional kind.

The 39-year-old actor played the villain in 'Ra.One' andwas seen as Kareena Kapoor's husband in We Are Family. But it is an altogether different pairing in the Madhur Bhandarkar directed film, where both of them are playing superstars.

"I am excited about the fact that the love story between the characters played by Kareena Kapoor and me is very different. Actors do say this all the time but when you watch the film, you would see that for yourself," Arjun Rampal told PTI.

He said that coming together with Kareena Kapoor after Ra. One and We are Family was nothing less than nostalgia. "Kareena Kapoor and I have always got along really well. We have been friends for the longest period and same is the case with me and Saif Ali Khan as well. She has done a very good job in the film. She has played the part of Mahi quite superbly. For Heroine, she has indeed gone all out."

With Kareena Kapoor playing the central protagonist, Arjun was a bit apprehensive about how much prominence would the maleleads get in the film. "When I was approached for the film, I did feel that in a film about a heroine, what a guy would actually do. However the part of this superstar that I am playing in the film came across quite nicely. Moreover Madhur Bhandarkar and I wanted to work together for a long time. Madhur Bhandarkar is really capable of handling a subject like this. I didn't have to think much about just my own character since the film is not about one particular individual," said Arjun Rampal.

The actor said since he is playing a superstar in Heroine, he has modelled his character on many people from the industry and also included some of his own mannerism. "When you watch the film and the stars that fill the frames, you would be able to relate to a lot of them. I have not really based my character on one particular person and have brought in various characteristics from different people. Some of these characteristics may actually be even mine."

With Randeep Hooda, Divya Dutta and Ranvir Shorey alsostarring in the film, Heroine will release this Friday.
