Lady Gagasays that her latest single 'Hair' is inspired my her motherwho taught her that her locks were her identity.
The 25-year-old who is known for her eccentric outfitsand hairstyles says that as a teenager her mother used to tendto her hair while she was sleeping, reported Contactmusic.
"Your hair is your glory and my hair represents myidentity as it does represent the identity for many people,"said Gaga.
"My mom would even cut my hair when I was asleepbecause I had really long split hairs, because I liked itreally long like a hippy," said the Grammy winning artiste.
The 'Judas' hitmaker, who has been to UK for afree show and indulged in some of its traditions.
"My favourite thing to do is drive away and find a pubin the middle of nowhere and have some fish and chips withmushy peas and a pint of beer," added Gaga.
