Paderu:
N Balakrishna, actor and son of TDP founder N T Rama Rao, once again made clear his plan of joining active politics and contest the next assembly polls.
Addressing a public meeting after unveiling the statue of his father in the agency area of the Paderu in the district here today, he stated that he had decided to enter into active politics to serve the people.
"TDP had launched several welfare programmes for all sections of the people including, tribals and the tribal areas were developed during the TDP rule only," he said.
Balakrishna said that soon after the TDP came to power in 1983, the former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao had taken up several measures for the development of the agency areas.
Claiming that TDP was the only party in the state to care for the welfare of the people and urged them to extend their support to bring back the TDP in power to elect N Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister.
He said the TDP was totally against the bauxite mining in the agency areas. In September last year, the actor had said that he would contest the 2014 Assembly elections.
