Hollywood beauties AnneHathaway and Natalie Portman are in the run to play ElizabethBenett, a ghost-slaying lady in the celluloid adaptation ofthe cult hit book, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
The hit 2009 novel satirises and updates Jane Austen's19th century classic, Pride and Prejudice and British actorJames McAvoy is in talks to play the male lead.
The book's film rights were bought last year byNatalie Portman's production company, and she is consideringstarring as leading lady Elizabeth Bennett. The othercontender is Anne Hathaway, reported Huffington Post online.
Written by Seth Grahame-Smith, the book leaves 85percent of Austen's original novel in place, adding in anhilarious zombie and ninja outbreak to the storyline.
"Subconsciously, Austen was writing a horror novel anddidn't know it. People taking these strolls, riding theircarriages to and fro. There are so many opportunities therefor zombie attacks," the author had said about hisinspiration.
