London: Hollywood actress NataliePortman's military approach to work has found her a friend onthe sets of Black Swan.
The 29-year-old actress, who won a Golden Globe forher role in the movie, developed a telepathic connection withdirector Darren Aronofsky while working on the psychologicalthriller, Contactmusic reported.
"Darren is a really, really exacting director. He'sphenomenal. It was really wonderful to get to watch him work.Because we were the only ones who were there every day."We had early recognition that we were equallymilitary about our approach to work - we are both reallyfocused and disciplined, and alert. It was really a quickconnection between us. Almost telepathic," said the 'Closer'star.
Portman played the role of a psychologically-troubledballet dancer in the thriller and admits the content of thefilm might be shocking, but many ballet dancers have attestedto its truthfulness.
"We had some really wonderful responses from balletdancers verifying the details of the film. Clearly thisdepicts one particular dance story in one particular fictionalcompany so it's not meant to, as all stories, it's not meantto be taken as truth for every company or every dancer. It'snot even trying to be one real person's story.
"It's fiction. However, I think a lot of the detailsare mined from true stories. I read autobiographies of manydancers from sort of the New York City ballet and that's whereI got a lot of my ideas from. There's some stuff that peoplemight not want to admit is true but a lot of it is deeplydarkly true," added Portman.
