New Delhi: Akshay Kumar received his first National Award for Best Actor, Sonam Kapoor also  has received her Special Mention National Award. Akshay was awarded for his performance as a naval officer in the dock for murder in 2016 film Rustom. Sonam was awarded for Neerja, which has also won Best Hindi Film. President Pranab Mukherjee presented the awards to the winners at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The National Awards were announced on April 7. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal also won the Special Jury award for his performances in films like Janatha Garage, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and Pulimurugan. Marathi film Kasav has won the National Award for Best Feature Film.
