Suriya, who will be attending the 68th National Film Awards on Friday evening, flew to Delhi this morning. The actor who won for his performance in the 2020 film Soorarai Pottru, will be sharing the Best Actor Award with Ajay Devgn for the film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The 47-year-old actor was pictured at the Mumbai airport along with his wife and actor Jyotika and their kids - Diya and Dev. Suriya and Jyotika were twinning and winning in white outfits as they were pictured at the Mumbai airport on Friday morning. Team Soorarai Pottru will receive multiple awards at the National Film Awards.
Meanwhile, on the official Instagram handle of Suriya and Jyotika's production house 2D Entertainment, a post was shared ahead of the 68th National Film Awards. Other than Suriya, Aparna Balamurali will receive the Best Actress award for the film. Soorarai Pottru also won Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay and Best Background Score. The caption on the post shared by 2D Entertainment read: "Team Soorarai Pottru arrives at the capital city, New Delhi, for the prestigious National Awards Ceremony. Director Sudha Kongara, music director GV Prakash and actress Aparna Balamurali."

Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film was based on the life of Simplify Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath. The film's Hindi remake will star Akshay Kumar in the lead role and it will feature Suriya in a cameo appearance.
