New Delhi: The acclaimed period piece Bajirao Mastani swept the National Awards - announced on Monday - with wins for its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Best Supporting Actress for Tanvi Azmi, among other awards.

Amitabh Bachchan won Best Actor for Piku - his fourth National Award - and Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. This was the 29-year-old actress' third National Award win after last year's Best Actress National Award for Queen and 2009's Best Supporting Actress National Award for Fashion.
