New Delhi: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Salman Khan's co-star of films like
Bajrangi Bhaijaan and
Kick, said that he's not invited to Bollywood parties anymore because he has mostly been turning away party invitations so far, reported Mumbai Mirror. In his interview with
Mumbai Mirror, the 42-year-old actor referred to parties hosted by Bollywood personalities and confessed that he's "uncomfortable" attending "desi" get-togethers.
Nawazuddin particularly mentioned that he also used to be invited to Salman's parties but not anymore. "Like everybody else, Salman
bhai too used to invite me to his parties but I tend to avoid all Bollywood bashes. Despite walking red carpets at Sundance, Berlin and Cannes film festivals, I'm still uncomfortable at a typical desi party. So now, I guess, everybody has decided not to invite me knowing I'll say 'no'," Nawazuddin told
Mumbai Mirror.
The
Khandaan of Salman loves to party, (true story), and Salman loves to have ample guests over at his bashes. For example, the
Dabangg actor's 51st birthday celebration held in December had almost the entire of Bollywood fraternity pouring in. Kabir Khan, who directed Nawauddin in Salman's
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, was also there but Nawazuddin was not part of the party.
Nawazuddin has worked with all the three Khans of Bollywood. Apart from Salman Khan, he's shared screen space with Aamir in
Talaash and Shah Rukh in
Raees. When asked about his equation with Shah Rukh and Salman, he told
Mumbai Mirror that he was never
made to feel overshadowed by their star status. "In the garden of Bollywood, Shah Rukh and Salman are as different as a red and a black rose, each blooming with their own beauty. Neither has ever made me feel or look bad. They've never been jealous or told a director to cut my role or reduce my lines. In fact, I've become the face of a leading fashion brand for men's wear which today, sells even better up North than it did before. They were happy to learn this and congratulated me warmly," Nawazuddin told
Mumbai Mirror.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last
seen as a cop in Shah Rukh's Raees and will soon be playing author Saadat Hasan Manto in biopic
Manto, directed by Nandita Das. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy with
Tiger Zinda Hai, his next film with Kabir Khan, co-starring Katrina Kaif.
