New Delhi: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui announced he's withdrawing his biography titled An Ordinary Life: A Memoir, few days after its release, following the heavy criticism he's received as repercussion of the affairs he's documented. Nawazuddin's former girlfriends Sunita Rajwar and actress Niharika Singh (who co-starred with him in Miss Lovely) has accused him of misrepresenting facts in his book, none of who, however, denied an affair. In a tweet on Monday evening, the 43-year-old actor posted an apology for hurting sentiments, adding he regrets the inconvenience caused by the "chaos". "I m apologising 2 every1 who's sentiments r hurt bcz of d chaos around my memoir #AnOrdinaryLife. I hereby regret & decide 2 withdraw my book (sic)," read Nawazuddin's tweet. An Ordinary Life: A Memoir, co-authored by the actor and Rituparna Chatterjee, was made available for online purchase on October 25.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has featured in top trends since explosive excerpts from his biography made its way to the Internet. After statements and posts denying Nawazuddin's portrayal of the nature of relationships he's had with Niharika Singh and Sunita Rajwar, the recent move against the actor arrived in the form of a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW).

Gautam Gulati, a Delhi-based advocate, lodged a complaint on behalf of actress Niharika Singh for "outraging the modesty of his Miss Lovely co-star," reported mid-day. Mr Gulati, who's accused the actor of "minting money and garnering free publicity for his book", mentioned in his interview to mid-day that his decision is independent of any influence and that he's never met or spoken to Niharika Singh.

Last week, Ms Singh released a strongly-worded statement, in which she accused Nawazuddin of distorting facts: "Nawaz and I had a brief relationship during the making of Miss Lovely that lasted less than a few months. He obviously wants to sell his book and it would appear that he is willing to exploit and disrespect a woman just to do so. He has chosen to fabricate stories and manipulate a fleeting relationship. None of what he has written has been with my knowledge, let alone my consent. It is this very aspect of Nawaz that caused me to end my relationship with him in the first place." Of Ms Singh, this is just a part of what Nawazuddin mentioned in his book: "...out of the blue, I began a relationship with Niharika Singh, a relationship which I did not know then would last for almost one and a half years."

Sunita Rajwar, on her part, tagged Nawazuddin Siddiqui as "sympathy seeker" in her lengthy Facebook post shared on Friday. Nawazuddin's biography also mentions Ms Rajwar left him as he was in the struggling phase of his career.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is best known for having starred in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur, Badlapur and Raman Raghav 2.0. 2017's Babumoshai Bandookbaaz remains the actor's last movie.
