The documentary film Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, based on the life of South star Nayanthara, now has a release date. On Wednesday, the makers unveiled a poster to announce the big news. The project is set to premiere on Netflix on November 18. In the poster, the actress stands on a red carpet in a black dress, with a crowd gathered at a distance. The side note read, “In every universe, she's the brightest star. Watch the lady superstar and her stellar journey on Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale on 18 November, only on Netflix!”
Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale will take viewers through Nayanthara's marriage to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, showcasing their love story alongside Nayanthara's professional achievements. “Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale follows superstar Nayanthara in the wake of her marriage to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. The intimate documentary tells the sensation's tale of success, love and happiness,” read an extract from a Netflix report.
The official description of Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale on the OTT platform reads: “Celebrated actor Nayanthara looks back on her journey towards love and superstardom amidst personal struggles and triumphs in this intimate documentary.”
The teaser for Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale was unveiled at Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event on September 24. The little over one-minute teaser showcases the preparations for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's grand wedding, along with exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes moments. It opens with Vignesh being asked, “Why Nayanthara?” To which, the filmmaker jokingly replies, "Angelina Jolie also asked, but she is not a person from South India, so Nayanthara." The video concludes with the couple gazing at the ocean.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan got married in June 2022. The couple welcomed their twins, Ulagam and Uyir, via surrogacy in the same year.
On the work front, Nayanthara made her acting debut in 2003 with the Malayalam film Manassinakkare. Since then, she has appeared in numerous Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam movies, including Thaskara Veeran, Lakshmi, Sivakasi, and Super. In 2023 Nayanthara made her entry into Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan.
