Los Angeles:
After going through a case of creative differences with the priorly-selected directors, Thor 2 has found a new director in accomplished TV director Alan Taylor.
Marvel Studios has picked Taylor from the short list to replace first movie's director Kenneth Branagh who decided not to continue, and Patty Jenkins who quit earlier this month, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Taylor made most of his accomplishments on television, directing among others the episode of The Sopranos, Mad Men and Game of Thrones. He made a name as a feature film director in 1995's Palookaville.
Taylor reportedly has been a favorite since Jenkins' departure. The other candidates who were in the running to direct the film were John Collee Happy Feet, Robert Rodat Saving Private Ryan, Sheldon Turner X-Men: First Class co-writer, and Robert Avary Pulp Fiction.
The recruitment of Taylor has put the movie back on track to meet its November 15, 2013 release date. Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are set to reprise their roles as the titular character and his love interest respectively. Portman allegedly was furious when Marvel fired her friend Jenkins over the creative differences.
