New logo for Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary
Los Angeles: The Rolling Stones band has roped in street artist Shephard Fairey to redesign their iconic logo for their 50th anniversary.

The Brown Sugar hitmakers unveiled the sleek new take on their classic tongue-and-lips design to mark their half-century in rock 'n' roll, reports dailystar.co.uk.

The launch of the logo was strategically planned ahead of a string of celebratory gigs later this year.

Fairey, best known for designing US President Barack Obama's Hope posters, has added a circular red and white banner reading "The Rolling Stones - Fifty Years", and incorporated the number 50 into the band's name.

The tongue, created by art student John Pasche, first appeared on the Stones' Sticky Fingers album sleeve in 1971.
