Holywood star Nicole Kidman isset to be honored at the 50th Annual New York Film Festival.
Being dubbed 'one of film's finest contemporaryactresses', the Oscar-winner will be honoured with a galatribute at the event on October 3, reported Ace Showbiz.
Her latest movie The Paperboy is also included in thefestival's main slate.
"Nicole Kidman is one of film's finest contemporaryactresses. Since her breakthrough performance in To Die Forand her bold and provocatice appearances in Lars Von Trier'sDogville, Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, heraward-winning portrayal of Virginia Woolf in Stephen Daldry'sThe Hours, Kidman has insisted on finding roles that arecomplex, bold and demanding.
"We are excited to honor her with a tribute at the NewYork Film Festival," said Richard Pena, festival director.
This year's New York Film Festival will run fromSeptember 28 to October 14.
Serving as the opener will be Ang Lee's Life of Pi,which will mark the first time ever a 3D movie being chosen toopen the event.
