A still from Airlift.
Mumbai:
Actress Nimrat Kaur, who will soon be seen in Airlift, said that she was intimidated by her co-star Akshay Kumar.
"Initially, I was intimidated before meeting Akshay as I thought that he is a huge star. He makes the other person feel comfortable. He is the most wonderful person that I have ever met. I have been lucky. It is all the more pleasurable. I have had the most amazing time with him," said Nimrat.
In Airlift, Akshay plays the role of an influential businessman, who has made many enemies in Kuwait. It gives a sneak peek of the time when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 and more than one lakh Indians were evacuated from a Kuwait under attack.(Also Read: Airlift Trailer Stars Akshay Kumar in a Page From Indian History)
"It is a dramatic film. It is about the trial and tribulations which these people had to face. It is not in one go that this man came up with a plan. There were a lot of disappointments. So it is a constant back and forth," added Nimrat.
"People are rendered homeless and jobless. They don't have money. They lost their identity overnight. Getting basic necessities like food and clothes was a challenge for them. It was mayhem. It is amazing that I did not know about such a big event either. One is fairly aware about what has happened 20 years ago. It is not that long back," said Nimrat.
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is scheduled to release on January 22 next year.
