London: Actor George Clooney, who will play a liberal presidential candidate in his new film The Ides of March, says he will never be interested to take up a political career in real life.
"It would never be something I'm interested in. I'm not good at the kind of compromises that you have to make to get elected," contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.
The 50-year-old actor admits he witnessed his father struggling in real life. Clooney's father made a failed attempt to be elected for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District in 2004.
"I watched that happen and I watched how frustrating it was for him and I didn't enjoy it. The current political climate is still the most polarised we've seen in a long time. And very caring, smart people on both sides of the aisle, you could argue, are having a very difficult time getting anything done," he said.
