Abhishek Kapoor's last film was Rock On four years ago.
Mumbai: Director Abhishek Kapoor, who isbasking in the success of Kai Po Che, says he is not aimingto make Rs 100 crore at the box office.

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj KumarYadav in lead roles, the movie, which hit the screens lastFriday, witnessed a good response on its opening weekend andhas reportedly earned Rs 18 crore till now.

Evidently, Kapoor is happy but does not consider thatthe new definition of success is the entry into the eliteclub.

"I think it (Rs 100 crore) is silly. Beyond that Iwould not like to say anything. For my films I never aimed forthem to do X amount of business. All I want is the audience tolike and enjoy the film," Abhishek Kapoor told PTI.

"As far as Kai Po Che is concerned I don't aim forany number or figures. I am happy I have touched the hearts ofaudience. Their reaction to the film holds more value to methan anything else," he said.

"People have liked the film and I am really happyabout it. We all have worked hard for it and our efforts havepaid off well. Even the actors are getting good response fortheir performance in the film. We are elated. We hope to workagain with the same cast," the director said.

Kapoor adapted Chetan Bhagat's book 3 Mistakes of MyLife for the big screen and titled it as Kai Po Che.

"When I read it (book) for the first time I found itvery attractive as the film is about India in a simple way. Iwanted to make a film based on India and want everyone to seethis film. When I got into it I realised it is not going to bean easy task," he said.

"This book is about politics, friendship, love, religion and earthquake all in equal measure. But when youmake a film there has to be a theme or trajectory... We choseto revolve it around friendship. Then you remove and addthings from the novel and you end up making a differententity," he added.

After he directed Rock On it took almost four yearsfor Abhishek Kapoor to come up with this film.

"It took a while... I did not intend to take such along time. All I wanted to do is make a good film... So ittook time. It is not a race as to who makes a film first.Hoping my next film does not take that long time," Kapoorsaid.

His next project would be with UTV Motion Picturesagain and with Ekta Kapoor. The filmmaker, however refused todivulge details about it.
