Twinkle Khanna's The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad is about to celebrate its first anniversary On November 7 and it has a fabulous year for the bestseller, as two of its short stories have been taken up for different adaptations. Akshay Kumar, as everyone knows, is making Padman as film with R Balki as director and Twinkle as producer. But before Padman (releasing on January 26), you can watch the stage adaptation of another short story from the book - Salaam, Noni Appa. The short story, which is about finding love in old age, is directed by Lillete Dubey, who also stars in the play. The play also features Jayati Bhatia and Darshan Jariwala in pivotal roles.

On Saturday, Twinkle Khanna along with her Bollywood friends attended the play, which various show in the upcoming week in multiple cities. Twinkle and Akshay Kumar invited Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Khan, newly-appointed FTTI chairperson Anupam Kher, Kabir Bedi and Praveen Dusanj and director R Balki to the play on Saturday.

As for Padman, the makers on Sunday announced the film's release date - January 26, 2018. The film is based on the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary pad making machine.



Padman also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte and it is the first film, which Twinkle Khanna will produce through Mrs FunnyBones Movies. Padman will also feature Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo role. The film may release around the time Rajinikanth's 2.0 will hit the screens. 2.0 features Akshay as the principal antagonist.
