Orlando Bloom isreuniting with his 'Lord of the Rings' director Peter Jacksonfor 'The Hobbit', the much hyped adaptation of JRR Tolkien'soriginal novel.
Jackson says he is thrilled to work again with Bloom,who played elf Legolas in the 'Rings' series. But the actorwill appear in a different role in the new movie, theHollywood Reporter said.
"Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconiccharacter with his portrayal of Legolas. I'm excited toannounce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with himonce more. I'm thrilled to be working with Orlando again,"Jackson said in a Facebook post.
The director is currently directing the two-movieadaptation in New Zealand.
The films helped Bloom to achieve stardom. Jacksonwrote on his Facebook page, "I look older and he doesn't! Iguess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."
The Hobbit movies, which have been in the works for 14years, has faced a series of setbacks.
Actors Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood andAndy Serkis are also reprising their roles from Rings in theprequel, which centers on Bilbo (Freeman) finding thesupernatural ring and passing it on to his nephew, Frodo(Wood).
The first of the two movies is planned for a December2012 release and the second is expected a year later.
