Jennifer Lawrence falls as she approaches the stage to accept her award for best actress

Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence tripped over the voluminous skirt of her Dior dress as she climbed stairs to collect her Oscar from French actor Jean Dujardin. Jennifer made it to the Oscar podium safely, but not before she was photographed sprawled on the staircase leading up to it.
On stage, Jennifer joked "You lot are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell, and that's embarrassing."
In fact, this is not the first Dior dress that has almost let Jennifer down as she collected a slew of Best Actress awards this season. The Silver Linings Playbook star also suffered a wardrobe malfunction of sorts when sections of the dark blue dress she wore to the Screen Actors' Guild Awards came apart, revealing the mesh lining underneath.
Jennifer made a valiant recovery, just as she did later at the Oscars, quickly pulling her dress together as she arrived at the podium to receive her SAG award.
