It should be no surprise that the Best Picture line-up at the Oscars this year leans heavily towards films about or set in America. In terms of pure geography, only in two films do the events play out in a setting other than the country that is home to the Oscars (and even in those, the main characters are American ) - Captain Phillips in which the MV Maersk Alabama is hijacked off the African coast, and Gravity in which two astronauts find themselves lost in space.
