The Academy, clearly a believer in second chances, has invited actor John Travolta back to present at this year's Oscars despite last year's flub in which he butchered singer Idina Menzel's name on stage. As he introduced her performance of Let It Go from animated film Frozen, the Grease star said, "Please welcome the wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem."
As social media ripped into him, an embarrassed John Travolta later said he'd 'been beating' himself up all day. The Academy, however, has proved itself more forgiving than Twitter.
Mr Travolta will also appear on TV host Jimmy Kimmel's annual special After The Oscars.
This year, nominees Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, Marion Cotillard and Benedict Cumberbatch will be on double duty as presenters. The four acting Oscars will be presented by last year's winners - Best Actor Matthew McConaughey, Best Actress Cate Blanchett, Best Supporting Actor Jared Leto and Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong'o.
Other presenters include Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Eddie Murphy, Naomi Watts, Liam Neeson, Idris Elba, Kerry Washington, Octavia Spencer, Chloe Grace Moretz, Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, David Oyelowo, Sienna Miller and Shirley MacLaine.
The Technical Awards segment will be presented by Margot Robbie, who starred in The Wolf Of Wall Street, and Miles Teller, who plays the lead in this year's nominated film Whiplash. Foxcatcher actor Channing Tatum will introduce the six winners of the Team Oscar contest.
