New York:
Indian origin model Padma Lakshmi celebrated her daughter's first birthday with a trip to the Bahamas where she proved that motherhood has not ruined her famed physique.
The 40-year-old who hosts the hit US TV show 'Top Chef', strolled along the beach in a bikini, showing off her toned figure, reported New York Post online.
Lakshmi is currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle over her daughter Krishna Thea, with the baby's father Adam Dell, but has not let go of her health regime.
The model recently tweeted one of the tips that keeps her svelte figure in shape by telling her fans to choose healthy drinks like tea instead of fattening sodas.
"Sweetened beverages = greatest source of added sugar in the American diet. Drink green or jasmine tea instead! (sic)," she wrote on the social networking website Twitter.
She added a link to the New York Academy of Sciences who she has paired up with for their Nutrition Initiative.
Dell, the brother of computer giant founder Michael Dell, filed a lawsuit seeking full custody of baby Krishna earlier this year.
He is also seeking to have his name added to the birth certificate as the legal father, and to also force Krishna to take his surname along with Lakshmi.
His legal bid is said to have been sparked because he is unhappy with the seven hours a week he is currently allowed to spend with his daughter.
Lakshmi, who was married to author Salman Rushdie from 2004 to 2007, is said to be currently in a relationship with 70-year-old IMG boss Ted Forstmann.
